Price of Blenders in Nigeria 2024

Blenders are one of the most common kitchen appliances you’ll find in most homes.

The available brands are so many that one may find it difficult to choose a particular one. This should, however, not be a problem if you know what you want and what you should look out for.

This article does not only tell you the prices of blenders in Nigeria but also the features you should focus on and a range of brands to choose from.

I believe you’ll gain a lot from this article whether you’ve owned a blender before or you’re about to get your first one. Read on to unravel the important details.

Classification of Blenders

There are many types of blenders manufactured by different companies. But they are basically classified into 2 categories; the (commonly used) countertop blenders and the (less used) immersion blenders.

Countertop Blenders

These are the popular ones we mostly see displayed for sale. They are usually made of a spacious container with a motor and blade beneath and a bowl attached to the base. This bowl is where the content is deposited after it has been blended.

This category is of different types. Some are low-powered while some are high-powered and more sophisticated. The low-powered ones may require the addition of a liquid to help move the content around for even crushing. But the high-powered ones usually don’t require any assistance to evenly blend the content.

Hand-held (Immersion) Blenders

Immersion blenders also have the rotating blade and motor but don’t have the container for collecting blended content. The head, which carries the blade, is immersed into a container containing the item to be blended.

This category of blenders is good for a large quantity that cannot be contained in a small bowl. The downside is that a switch has to be held down throughout the blending process.

What to Look Out for in a Blender

Below are the general features to be considered when you set out to buy your blender. The particular features you may need to focus on should be based on where and how you plan to use your blender.

For example, if you’d be using it several times a day, you’d need to focus more on quality and durability above other things.

1 Physical Build

By this, I mean the container; the material the body is made of. They are made of several materials including plastic, glass, and stainless.

The ones with the plastic body are light and come at more affordable prices. Those of the glasses are good and more hygienic. But, of course, they are very fragile and can break easily when they fall on the ground. The stainless made blenders are also hygienic and recommended. But they don’t allow you to have a clear view of the content in the blender.

2 Easy Replacement of Jar

Even if you eventually buy a very durable and high-quality blender, there will come a time when you’d need to change one or more parts or the blender as a whole. It is always a good idea to plan ahead in cases of accidents. It is recommended to get a blender whose jar can be easily replaced.

It is normal for the jar to give a particular odour after a long term use. When this occurs, you should know its time to replace it. Replacing it won’t be much of a problem if you plan ahead by choosing one that can be easily replaced.

3 Electricity Usage

Do you plan to use your blender with the generator? What type of generator do you use?

These are questions you should ask yourself before you spend your money to get one. We all know the power supply condition of this country.

Most blenders come with low power of about 600 watts and below. These types can be used with the “I pass my neighbour” Tiger generator. Some are available with a higher power capacity of 1000 watts and above. They should only be used with bigger generators.

Note that in most cases, the higher the power of the blender the more its functionality, and the lower the power the lower its functionality.

4 Functionality

The functionality of the blender matters a lot. You should consider this if you have enough budget. This is because the price may tend to be higher with an increase in functionality.

Some blenders are designed only with the on and off buttons. These types often come at low and affordable prices. On the other hand, some come with various useful options.

Speed variability is a good example. A blender that allows you to increase and decrease speed is quite better than one that doesn’t allow that option. With this, you can put less stress on the motor by starting with a slow speed and gradually increasing the speed. This also helps you to choose the level at which you want your content to be blended.

Best Blenders in Nigeria

There is quite a brand of blenders on the market. Some brands are popular while some are obscure. Don’t be surprised when you get to the market and find one without a brand name. This may not necessarily mean that they are not high-quality, but it’s recommended to steer clear of them — to avoid stories that touch.

Below is a list of the best brands that I recommend. They are readily available and are loved by Nigerians.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours. Ours included my husband and me our 5 dogs and 5 Mandarin ducks. The ducks are safe. They are pets so they will never be eaten.
