Additional Requirements for the Indian Visa

Apart from the general visa requirements, you might need to provide additional documents for different visa types.

  • For a transit visa, applicants will have to provide a return or onward journey ticket. This type of visa is non-extendable and allows only a single or, at most, double entry and nothing more
  • For business visa, applicants will have to provide proof of bonafide purpose. This type of visa is extendable and allows multiple entries for a period of 5 years
  • For an employment visa, applicants will have to provide proof of employment including employment letter, terms and conditions of employment and other relevant documents. This type of visa is extendable and allows multiple entries for a period of 1 year or the entire duration of your contract with an Indian company or the employer in question
  • For a student visa, applicants will have to provide proof of admission into an Indian institution. This type of visa is extendable and allows multiple entries for a period of 5 years or the entire duration of your study with an Indian university
  • For film visa, applicants will have to provide a detailed copy of the shooting script in case of a feature film and the detailed concept in case of a TV show or serial. Applicants will also have to provide the details of the entire film crew and the location of the film shooting. Other additional requirements may include a letter of intent regarding the shooting of the film in India as well as particulars of the cast, crew and filming equipment to be used. This type of visa is extendable and allows multiple entries for a period of 1 year or the entire duration of your shoot, which should be less than 1 year.
